In January of 2017 we made some much-needed upgrades to the Archives! We replaced the aging carpet with vinyl plank flooring, changed up the work area, installed a new work station, and rearranged the research library. A fresh coat of paint and some drapes...voila!
Removing the carpet was not just an aesthetic change, it also help us to keep the archives in a cleaner state free of pests. Carpets have a habit of trapping organic matter and bacteria that in turn attracts pests such as silverfish.
We also added room-darkening curtains that allow us to better control UV radiation entering the building.
